EBRD Community Initiative programme: Double Your Impact for Children of Heroes

This campaign is implemented within EBRD Community Initiative programme.
Every donation will be matched 1:1 by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development under EBRD Community Initiative, up to €50,000. This creates a total potential impact of €100,000.

What is this fundraising for?
Through EBRD Community Initiative programme, employees are invited to support two concrete programs for children and families who have lost one or both parents due to the war in Ukraine.

The campaign is implemented by the Ukrainian Charity Foundation “Children of Heroes”, which provides long-term support to children affected by war - not one-time aid, but recovery that lasts for years.

Project 1: Psychological Camps for Children and Caregivers
Total budget: €50,000 (2 camps)
These camps help children and families cope with trauma, grief and loss in a safe environment guided by professional psychologists.

Who will participate?
- “Strength in You” - children aged 8–15
- “Firefly” - children aged 3–7 together with their caregivers

Why this matters?
Losing a parent at a young age deeply affects a child’s emotional development.
These camps help:
- children process loss and fear;
- caregivers better support their children;
- families rebuild emotional stability together.
Timeline: Camps start approximately 1.5 months after funding confirmation.

Project 2: Educational Program – Online English Courses
Total budget: €50,000
Education is a key part of long-term recovery for children affected by war.
What this program delivers
- 1,300 children enrolled in English courses
- 307 children receiving a full 9-month English course

Why this matters?
English language education:
- restores confidence;
- gives children tools to plan their future;
- provides stability and structure during prolonged crisis.
Timeline: Program launch – September 2026
Preparation begins 1.5 months after funding confirmation.
