A Christmas Miracle for a Ukrainian Childs

by CHILDREN OF HEROES OF UKRAINE FOUNDATION

Every December, children under our care write letters to St. Nicholas.
But their wishes tell a very different kind of story - one about loss, love, and hope.
Nazar, 10, didn’t ask for toys - only a year’s supply of food for his beloved cat. Thanks to a kind partner, that wish came true, and now both are safe and warm.
Diana dreamed of dancing but lived with severe pain in her legs. Her only wish was to have healthy legs again. With your help, we funded her surgery - and today, she dances again.
Varvara, 14, loves music. She longed to become a singer and needed a synthesizer to rehearse. One of our volunteers gifted her his nearly new piano, and her songs now fill the house with joy.
Kyrylo wished for peace in Ukraine and a simple beanbag chair to make his temporary home cozier.
Sashko, 9, loves LEGO and drawing. He dreamed of playing football again - and asked for an electric toothbrush and a stunt RC car.
Each story is a reminder: a miracle can look very different.
It’s not always about gifts - sometimes, it’s about health, warmth, learning, and the feeling that someone, somewhere, still cares!

Through our Shelves of Care initiative, the Children of Heroes Foundation provides continuous, personalized support to over 15,000 children who have lost one or both parents due to the war in Ukraine.
Each “shelf” represents a real, vital need - and every donation fills it with care and dignity.

The program helps provide:
- Education and skills development: tutoring, English and IT programs, and access to devices for learning.
- Psychological support: therapy, art sessions, and resilience camps that help children heal from trauma.
- Medical care: access to doctors, medication, rehabilitation, and life-changing surgeries.
- Safe housing and essentials: warm clothes, food, heating, and other basic needs.
- Family assistant support: a personal field coordinator who helps each family with education, therapy, and recovery.

HOW YOUR SUPPORT HELPS?
Every donation fills a part of a child’s world with hope:
- $10 provides medicine or medical supplies.
- $25–30 offers warmth or a month of healthy food.
- $50 gives winter clothes or school materials.
- $100 funds one month of a family assistant’s work with a grieving family.
- $150 provides a laptop or tablet for learning and connection.
Every contribution - small or large - helps a child believe that life can still be kind.

A MIRACLE OF HOPE
For children who have lost everything, miracles come in small, gentle forms: a dance class resumed, a pet cared for, a song sung, a smile returned.
This holiday season, you can help make those miracles happen.
Join us in filling the Shelves of Care - and bring back what every child deserves: love, safety, and a future.
