A Christmas miracle for a Ukrainian child
efter CHILDREN OF HEROES OF UKRAINE FOUNDATIONFor children who have lost everything, miracles come in small, gentle forms: a dance class resumed, a pet cared for, a song sung, a smile returned.
Every December, children under our care write letters to St. Nicholas.
But their wishes tell a different kind of story – one about loss, love, and hope.
This holiday season, you can help make those miracles happen.
- Nazar, 10, didn’t ask for toys – only food for his beloved cat. Thanks to a kind partner, that wish came true, and now both are safe and warm.
- Diana dreamed of dancing but lived with severe pain in her legs. Her only wish was to walk without pain. With your help, we funded her surgery – and today, she dances again.
- Varvara, 14, loves music. She longed to become a singer and needed a synthesizer to rehearse. One of our volunteers gifted her his piano, and now her songs fill the house with joy.
- Kyrylo wished for peace in Ukraine and a simple beanbag chair to make his temporary home cozier.
- Sashko, 9, loves LEGO and drawing. He dreamed of playing football again – and asked for an electric toothbrush and a stunt RC car.
And many others didn’t write letters at all. Some are too young, others too shy, and some have simply stopped believing that miracles exist.
That’s why we created A Christmas Miracle – to remind them they are still loved, remembered, and surrounded by care.
Each story shows that a miracle can look very different:
it’s not always about gifts – sometimes, it’s about health, warmth, learning, and the feeling that someone, somewhere, still cares.
The Children of Heroes Foundation supports over 15,000 children in Ukraine who have lost loved ones because of the war.
Our mission this holiday season is simple yet powerful: to bring back childhood through care, comfort, and a touch of magic.
Some children will receive Christmas gifts – toys, creative kits, books, or digital gift certificates purchased and delivered locally by our team.
Others will find their “miracle” in education, health, or safety – a course they dreamed of taking, a warm coat, or help with recovery.
Because a miracle can look very different:
for one child, it’s a toy under the tree;
for another – a warm bed, IT lessons, or a smile that returns after months of silence.

A Miracle of Hope
For many of these children, this Christmas will be their first without their loved ones.
But with your help, it doesn’t have to be a season of sadness.
Your care – a small donation, a symbolic gift – can light up a room, spark a smile, and make a child believe that good things still happen.
Because sometimes, the greatest miracle is knowing that the world hasn’t forgotten you.
Join us in making this Christmas brighter for Ukraine’s children – one story, one gift, one miracle at a time.
