About this Giving Opportunity
For 56 years, Cleveland, Ohio, nonprofit Shoes and Clothes for Kids (SC4K) has focused on our mission to break barriers to school attendance by providing new shoes, clothes, and school supplies to students in need. Through our programs, we help improve school attendance—in some schools by up to 24%—ensuring students are consistently present for the cumulative learning required to succeed in subjects like science, technology, engineering, and math.
When students have the basics—comfortable shoes, warm clothing, and the supplies they need—they arrive at school confident, able to participate, better focused during labs, and ready to collaborate on projects, as they confidently explore STEM learning. Equipping classrooms with resources for hands-on STEM activities, such as building, experimenting, and critical thinking, improves test performance and inspires students to explore additional STEM pathways.

$10 – Provides a themed mini DIY STEM kit including materials such as rubber bands, pipe cleaners, magnets, magnifying glasses, craft sticks, and other exploratory items.

$25 – Supplies foundational building materials, such as blocks, Legos, magnetic tiles, and adhesive materials, for engineering challenges.

$50 – Provides beginner electronics components such as breadboards, resistors, LEDs, motors, and jumper wires to introduce basic circuitry.

$100 – Supports robotics and automation kits, including sensors, programmable boards, small motors, and starter robotics parts.

$150 – Supplies an entire classroom with essential STEM safety equipment, including goggles, gloves, aprons, and fire-safe tools to ensure safe hands-on learning.
